  1. Things to watch for when purchasing older vehicles. For example, a 1995 Toyota Avalon VIN 4T1GB10E5SU007009 for sale with approximately 167000 miles had the following problems. An oil leak that caused fumes to get in the cabin. Rotors getting thin. Brake pedal too soft. Rear springs very weak causing bottoming with rear seat passengers, not uncommon in older avalons. Engine light was on indicating a potential emissions problem. Sometimes the engine light can be disabled temporarily by someone looking to sell a car by disconnecting the battery cable but after driving the car briefly at speeds over 25mph, the engine light indicator will likely come back on. It's always good to look at the spare tire and see that it is not flat or tools for changing tires are there. Many used car buyers often overlook this. Always look at the CV boots. Sometimes these are damaged if the vehicle had been towed. It is recommended to take an older car to a mechanic who is presumably more skilled at identifying problems. Also, a carfax is worth the money and if buying from a dealer, should be provided to the prospective buyer.

  2. I'd love to be on that place. For business.
